Gordon Gibson '68

GIBSON, Gordon James
1951 - 2019
After a year-long battle with two cancers, fought with courage and his characteristic determination, Gordon died peacefully on Thursday, April 11, with his family by his side. He is missed and loved by his wife, Frances Algar, and his children, Alannah and James. After retiring from a challenging and satisfying career in the brokerage business, Gordon was able to devote more time to his beloved music as drummer, bandmate and sound engineer. Gordon was unconventional in most things and curious about all things. He loved Jaguars and RVs, Texas-style barbecue and smoked meat, Scotch and good draft beer, travel and camping in the Adirondacks - but above all, he loved his children and was fiercely proud of the interesting adults they have become. We would like to thank the many caring health professionals and hospital staff we encountered over the past year who eased our journey in countless ways, big and small. An informal gathering to remember Gordon will be held April 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie (corner Isabella) (www.kanefetterly.com). In lieu of flowers, a donation to the cancer-fighting charity of your choice would be appreciated.
